Once We

B”H

Once We

According to the harvester
akin to a salient
love

I am a message
a memory provider

Recognizable from that hanker to the east

This was not me
in futuring dreamstare

Virile inside your presence
secure with footfall

Now

I am
taciturnaround
and
screamscaredsacred

Once we laughed sillily
with an ability to
nevermind
the clatter of nature
upin us

Now

I lessen1 to my under
unsheathed
unself

Can’t be
Can’t be more

  1. Ronnie, your poetry is exquisite and sublime. Wishing you continued healing, hope,, and love to you and all of your beautiful family, your old friend from UT, Gail Lampert Greenberg

  2. Dear Ronnie, I too find this poem a beautiful jewel. Exceptionally musical and visually evocative. When are you coming out with a book so we can flip through again and again?
