Wonderful Beth El,
I want to tell you about the meta-world about us all. The doctor asked me to wiggle my hand, and from the inside, I am conducting, swirling, twirling, dancing, prancing, floating, like a Chagall painting. Scientists see the real world as body/ physical; clergy view life as luft. Judaism actually sides with the doctors, emphasizing the physical realm, but see it as a vehicle to reach the spiritual. The Torah teaches us that a body needs both lust and luster. That is why Creation began with Light and ended with Shabbos.
The direction in which we are led is the energy of our spirit. We have been blessed with an exceptional leadership, whose energy and spirit have guided us to great heights.
Yesterday, we ended the Tisha B’Av scroll of Eicha, Lamentations, with the verse:
“הֲשִׁיבֵנוּ ה’ אֵלֶיךָ ונשוב (וְנָשׁוּבָה), חַדֵּשׁ יָמֵינוּ כְּקֶדֶם”
“Turn us back to You, Hashem, and we shall return; renew our days as of old.”
I know that we will return to our holy task because our community has values, material, spirit and energy. Amen.
